I was also at the Hershey show for a couple of days and looked at the Trend. They had two on display for $79,999. and both were sold. Actually, very nice layouts. Though the biggest issue for me was the driving position. Couldn't figure out how to recline the seat back, a little too upright, or if the seat itself would slide back any further? Seems like it should?
The Trend appears to use adjustment wheels mounted on the side of each seat. Also, there is not much room in the left foot well, so my knee was bent at an unpleasant angle.
In so much as I'm 6'+ tall, it was just too uncomfortable for me for any type of extended driving.
However, I'd be interest in any real type MPG ratings, and opinions on the power of this engine from anyone who ends up buying one?
did they have both models.23b is my interest - 1492ModeratorI was also at the Hershey show for a couple of days and looked at the Trend. Winnebago had two on display for $79,999. and both were sold. the bottom seats make a bunk and there is a top bunk. the table has a hidden leaf so you could conceivably get 6 friendly and skinny adults around the table.
Aside from the obviously tight quarters, I don't think there is room for storage for six for towels, clothes, trash can, laundry hamper, etc. on the inside.
My family of 6 plus 1 Norwegian elkhound RVed in a Chinook 18 Plus class C back in the 70s. With careful packing it can be done. I think the biggest issue for 6 could be weight but we don't know the OCCC of it.
just because one can does not mean one should or want. this rv to me strictly 2 people:B - I don't think stability will be an issue at all. The FWD makes for a lower center of gravity and it seems to be fairly well balanced front to rear as far as weight goes. The older FWD motorhomes (GMC) had singles, albeit tandem singles in the rear and were reportedly very stable.
This motorhome lacks the ability to tow much and probably doesn't have much CCC, so it doesn't interest me. But for a buyer looking to go smaller than a Sprinter and bigger than a class B it might be a good option. - burlmartExplorerCongrats, RL Rahe...we will anxiously await your reports. I really hope to be wrong about the rear wheels and that the ride is as Dakzuki says it will likely be..

Even lower profile B vans on the Sprinter have duallys, like the Winnie ERA
Personally, I'd love the simplicity of only SRW, but not at the price of uneasy handling in wind or wakes of big rigs.
The Rialta - may it be blessed - had a low profile, a good bit lower than this more standard B+
I drove a SRW Chinook class C for years. Stability was never an issue in wind or wakes. It was no worse than my later dually Chinook. Granted the early one was a Chevy which didn't have the lousy Ford front suspension.... - DakzukiExplorer

23b or 23l? - RL_RaheExplorerFirst Trend ever sold in Hershey PA in Thursday.
- burlmartExplorerA more apropriate name for these two ‘Trend’ models is Trendy – not setting, but sticking w/ a trend.
I still give Winnie folk credit for being 1st, but there is little daylight here compared to the Sprinter B+ and C rigs. Substituting the Ducato for the Sprinter completely ignores the potential benefits the unique front drive MH Ducato chassis affords.
Use its strengths to streamline and save $ compsred to expensive RWD diesels, but not by saving two rear wheels. (Though this does make sense for a very smooth low profile GMC or Rialta style 24 footer.)
The Ducato offers potential for a low-slung, road-hugging revved-up Rialta w/ a real and reliable powertrain. A floor you step but once to enter – no toad, no basement storage…look back at the Born Free Bed and Breakfast concept, now with the appropriate chassis and some slick Euro styles to improve upon.
Start designing there. This ‘Trend” does not Rock Anyone’s RV. It misses the void Dakzuki describes.
