- sch911ExplorerThe MSRP on this coach new was only a few thousand over that price. About $320K. No way!
- Miramichi_cruisExplorerWell that settles things! Thank you for feedback!
- jplante4Explorer IIAnd even if you could strike a good deal and put the money into it, you'd have a tough time selling it later.
- mtrumpetExplorerI think that from all of the above posts, you've received your answer. I concur. Not at $219,000. I'll bet that you could find one heck of a nice, later model used coach for even less money than that.
- DSDP_DonExplorerWhen I bought my Dutch Star in January of 2014, my dealer had 3 brand new 2014 fully loaded Ventanas on sale for $220,000.00 plus tax and license.
- Dale_TravelingExplorer IINot at the price as listed. Just too big a risk that I would be willing to take. I wouldn't consider it much different than a coach that was in a flood up to the floor. The other big question is how it is titled? Salvage? Insurance write off or such. If so the next owner will have a hard time selling if the day ever comes.
- turbojimmyExplorerAccording to NADA you could buy one that wasn't struck by lightning for that price. And NADA is typically on the high-side valuation-wise.
- MrWizardModeratorWas this a million dollar coach ?
Can you afford another $50,000 or more cash outlay repairing and replacing items ?
If the answer is no to either question, walk away - wlstroudExplorerLightning and/or electrical surges can stress components which can work OK for awhile and then mysteriously fail weeks or months later. Components like resistors and capacitors on control boards; windings in electric motors; relays; solid state switches, etc. have failed much later after a lightning strike at my workplace....even with surge protections and grounding in place. I think I would pass on the "as is" Newmar.
- bluwtr49Explorer IINot a chance at that price. As was said to many potential problems and some may not show up for months once you start using it. Lightening, voltage spikes, and etc will stress anything electrical even if it doesn't cause immediate failure.
I had a voltage spike awhile back that caused 10K in damage and for 6 months after that electronic stuff continued to fail....including the generator inverter.
To me it's a big pass.
