Anyone Freeze Chinese Takeout?

I would like to take some dishes with me. Will they freeze and still be good defrosted and re-heated?

Szechuan Beef and Pork Chop Suey at the moment. Fresh, they are much better than P.F.C.

My opinion is that both those should do pretty well. It would be the food with the batter coating that I'd avoid. Your food might not look as perfectly appealing as fresh but will still taste good.

Double ditto. Lo mein does not freeze well either. Sweet and sour pork goes soggy when defrosted.
  • I use One Of These and have taken almost everything along camping, including Chinese takeout.

My favorite is Mongolian Beef and Chicken Chop Suey with a side of Chicken Fried Rice to take along, also the soup. :B

  • Well, you can buy all the Chinese food frozen like the P.F. Chang dishes but they are flash frozen. Your results will probably vary depending on what the dish is. What are you thinking about? We usually stop at our favorite place and eat the Chinese food the first night in camp and the next day for leftovers.
