If I wanted my milk near freezing I'd put a glass in the freezer for a while.
Actually, keeping a glass in the refrigerator door is a great help to those of us cold-milk lovers.
I recently discovered a powdered milk that I could actually drink straight, in a pinch, and is perfectly fine on cereal. The trick is that it's a full fat powdered milk, not skim. I've tried Carnation and whatnot in the past and those were undrinkable. This one isn't.
It's by Nestle and I've found it on some grocery shelves.
Here's a
random Amazon link. The stuff isn't cheap, but it doesn't take up valuable refrigerator space. That page also shows Peak brand; I haven't tried it but it also gets good reviews.
Note that with the Nido, be sure NOT to get the one with the baby on the label. It's different stuff, and generally more available.
