Now why would anyone wrap a cheap strip of fat from a pig around a good cut of beef? Who started such nonsense? :h

There's only one thing better than bacon and I can't say that on here lol. One thing we do is take a sirloin steak and cut it in cubes and then wrap a piece of bacon around it held together with a toothpick and put it on the grill. Nice little appetizers. We sometimes substitute the steak with salmon.

  • I use a ci grill pan during the winter when we can't use the grill. It does a great job on a gas range. Every bit as good as the grill. I also cover just like the video....that and a hot pan is the key
  • We've been spoiled this last year. We've been able visit our kids in north GA and pick up a section of NY Strip at the old butcher we used to use. They cut and pack and I found room in the RV freezer instead of picking up a pk when we visit our DD.

Just had one last night cooked on my Flavorwave grill. I use Cajun dry seasonings, so DH doesn't even need his spicy A-1 sauce. Only 5 left, so we'll have to stock up before we head onto the next project in June.

Over 60 years ago my dear mom used to fry steaks in a pan. We never had a grill. They were pretty tough. I never cared much for steak. Back in those days I thought that was how everyone cooked steaks. Nope, frying pan won't work for me. Medium rare over the grill makes a pretty good & tender steak. JMHO

  • Steaks like nice, I have had quite a few cooked in the skillet, but also prefer the grill!!

Now the Jack Daniels' brisket is not among our favorite quick meals. We find the sauce is a little overpowering for our taste. We like the the Sadlers Smoked Brisket from Wal-Mart. We buy the large package and take home and divide it into about four servings for the two of us. It cooks in the microwave in minutes from frozen, add just a little Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce and it is a qreat fast meal. Makes a good "sam-itch" also........
  • The filet mignon is a very good cut of beef. Not sure I'd throw it in a frying pan. We order them 2 inches thick. Wrap them with bacon and 5 minutes on each side on the grill. At $15 a pound the frying pan won't work for me. However, pretty hard to ruin a filet mignon.
