Started out with a Weber Q. Really a good little grill. We just retired it and bought a Green Mountain Grill - Davy Crockett. I missed my smoker.
The Davy Crockett kind of big and heavy, but is really versatile. You can smoke, or grill and bake up to 550 degrees.
I've done the same thing, only worse ! I started out with the Weber and it's great. As far as far as I'm concerned, if you want a propane grill, then this is the one to get. BUT, I missed the flavor of charcoal, so I bought a small Weber charcoal grill. Was a happy camper for a while until I noticed that there seemed to be someone in every campground who had a pellet grill. I was missing my smoker, so I looked into it and bought a Davy Crockett.
These things are just too cool. What you really have is a smoker as well as a temperature controlled wood fired grill/oven. And anything cooked over wood just plain tastes better. I love the thing.
So now I have 3 grills, at least temporarily. But I suspect that the propane model is going into storage soon. - Ron3rdExplorer III

Son in Law just bought a Davey Crockett and it's great.
Weber Q for me when talking a propane grill. Our Q is going on 12 years, built like a tank. - dfmExplorerJust retired our Webber 100 after 12 years for a new Webber 1200. 12 years = best value in the market!!!

Add another weber fan here. I have had mine thru 2 campers now and still works perfect. Sometimes you DO get what you pay for! If you can't spell Weber I guess you shouldn't bash them. :WTerryallan wrote:
Webbers are great if you got more money than you know what to do with. however. The table top grills at Lowe's are great as well. at about 1/3 the cost of a Webber. Have one we have used for many years. Store easily, uses one, 1lb propane canister.
buying a name is sometimes just that. buying a name
I am careful with my money and a Weber is a perfect example of "You get what you pay for." . Not foolish at all.
If you are happy with your cheaper grill, great, just don't criticize and insult us for our choices.

Weber recommended = 14 - Army11BravoExplorer IIWe love our Weber Q2000. We have the hose adapter and connect it to a portable 20# propane tank that lasts us the season.
And no, we don't have more money than we know what to do with. We just prefer to buy quality items that will last for many years. The Q grills are a great value long term. Same argument I use when I buy Apple computers - quality and longevity. - Dog_FolksExplorer

Do you all hook up to the RV's external LP connection?
No, we use a hose and 20 lb tank. Provides more flexibility placement on the campsite. - Kafn8tdExplorerWeber Q 2000. I modified mine to hook up to the Toy Hauler outside propane quick disconnect. One of the best grills I have owned. The temperature is very controllable.
