- S-n-LExplorerHello everyone,
I have had my pressure cooker for many years but today I tried something I have never done before, pork spare ribs. OMG, they came out amazing. In June of this year my wife and I are heading out to full time and plan to use the pressure cooker a lot.
Get this, cooked in the pressure cooker for 15 minutes, imagine spare ribs in 15 minutes. I then threw them on the grill for about 10 minutes to crisp.
I have been cooking spare ribs on my Traeger smoker for years and would takes5 to 7 hours. Even in the oven take 2 plus hours. They came out super moist with great flavor. Granted, they did not have the awesome smokey flavor from the smoker but great none the same. This will be great to have on the road.
For anyone wondering how they fit in the pressure cooker, just role it up. I put them in the basket that came with my Fagor pc to keep the ribs out of the liquid. - Go_DogsExplorerMicrowave pressure cooker
This one is a microwave 4 qt pressure cooker. It's getting some good reviews. I think this would be great for someone intimidated with a stove-top or electric PC. It does seem very convenient. Of course, it would work differently in various sizes of microwave. - magnusfideExplorer II

Another problem with that. I can't read them. Does anybody make a large print pressure cookbook?
We use magnifiers for our small print. - GrumpyGatorExplorer

Can stove top pressure cookers be used on a flat top stove? I'm currently having a discussion with a friend that wants to buy a glass top stove and I told them that I had heard you can't pressure cook or can on them.
They work just fine on a glass top stove - Super_DaveExplorerCan stove top pressure cookers be used on a flat top stove? I'm currently having a discussion with a friend that wants to buy a glass top stove and I told them that I had heard you can't pressure cook or can on them.

We have this one, Pressure Cooker 6 in 1, with SS pot.Very Chinese but works very well. We use it a lot as a pc,rice pot, and slow cooker.
We bought this one and cooked some ribs today. They were in pieces using the meat selection but still good. I'm sure there's going to be a learning curve. I bought it on Amazon along with a couple of the suggested cookbooks. Another problem with that. I can't read them. Does anybody make a large print pressure cookbook?
p.s. If I'd had this appliance when our kids were little, they would've wanted to borrow it to play SPACESHIP with GI Joe and Barbie. :B It sure looks different. - ridingfamily4Explorer

Ridingfamily 4, I use my pressure cooker to "boil" eggs, poach eggs, make steel cut oats, rice, other grains, beans in minutes, make broth for soup and canning, all kinds of meat, including meat loaf and getting ribs partially cooked to grill or just cook them completely in sauce, chicken and beef stew, chili, soups, puddings and other desserts, cheese cake, mac and cheese, some pasta dishes, perfectly steamed veggies, potatoes, even some bread, super hot sauce pepper sauce for hubby, etc.
If I could only choose one pot to have in a crises, a PC would be it. terry r.

- PatStabExplorerI use them for quick cooking meat, also it will tenderize any meat that is tough.
I took mine in the motorhome, cooked a pork roast to make barbecue, cooked beef roast for soup, about 20 minutes. It will fall off the bone.
I bought mine a few years ago and its just a plain old fashioned stainless pressure cooker, a small one Also have a huge canning pressure cooker.
