I will be at a local campground on the fraser river tonight for a fire, i need to provide dinner for 5 adults(unfortunately i wont have my trailer with me)...What are some quick ideas that dont require a tonne of prep or condiments to be packed with ? I will have my barbeque with me...Im looking for something other than the ordinary hot dogs/hamburgers...Any suggestions are much appreciated! Thanks guys/gals.

how about what i call a hobo pack, i like to use fish, first i put down some alumny foil, layer it with thin sliced veggies, ie potatoes, zuchini, onions, what ever you like, then place enough pieces of fish on top, some salt an pepper, oil if you have some, seal it up and let it cook for about 15-20 min over the fire and poof, one dish no mess DINNER.Enjoy

Assuming you'll have at least one pot/skillet etc:Buy a big bag of frozen (fully cooked) meatballs, the spaghetti sauce of your choice, a shaker of parmesan cheese, and some good hard french sandwich rolls. Heat the meatballs in the spaghetti sauce and let folks pile them on the buns and top with the cheese. They can toast their own buns...A bag of salad mix and a bottle of dressing completes the meal!If you wanna get all fancy you could bring some garlic butter to spread on the buns and maybe a few tomatoes for the salad...

KFC family meals, chicken, cole slaw, biscuits, potatoes.... No fuss, no muss.

Mountain pies. You can do just about anything in them... pizzas, ham and cheese, turkey and bacon with cheese... dessert w/b to stuff them with a pie filling of your choice and a scoop of ice cream.Carolyn

Campfire Girls...we used hamburger meat. SO GOOD...great memory! :B

Then why not just eat the barbeque since you are bringing it with you. A few buns and chips and yum yum!

We moved to New Mexico from South Carolina about 10 years ago to take care of my dad. I think my kids miss Bojangles more than anything else! My wife has been back a couple of times and the kids always have her bring a box of Boberry biscuits home with her. BTW, my "kids" are in their mid 20's. :B
