Thanks for the post. Just picked up a Big Easy yesterday and look forward to using it. Did you use an injectable marinade? Also, did you cook with the lid on any at all? Thanks
You'll love it...and not just for turkey.
We used a Butterball (frozen then thawed) and after research found that you really don't have to inject.
All we did was season the cavity with poultry seasoning, little xtra virgin olive oil, salt and pepper, pats of butter, couple of other spices and then 2 stalks of celery.
On the outside we put more xtra virgin olive oil all over the bird then more seasoning but not a rub.
Put the lid on when internal temp got to about 125 degrees on our way to 165...about the last half hour. Browned up the rest of the way as you see in the pics. - SETennExplorerThanks for the post. - Us_out_WestExplorerThe end!!
Twas yummy!!
Oh wait...Turkey Soup maybe? :@ - Fish__n___GritsExplorerMy cooker is the same as yours, and my instructions tell you to leave the legs untied so the bird will cook better. I did, and it was a real 'rasslin' match to get it in the basket properly. There was always a leg where I didn't want it! I noticed you not only tied the legs, but you also had ?celery? in the cavity. I think I'll follow your example next time.

Great looking bird! Good job of it!
Thanks and was juicy and delicious.
Bird reached targeted internal temp of 165 degrees in about 2 1/2 hours. Took it out to rest about 20 min and the bird gained another 5 degrees. Perfect!!
Temp on the patio was around 54 at 4,400ft here at our home base in Reno. - Us_out_WestExplorer

And I just want to say:
Your patio has the cleanest concrete I've ever seen!
X2 - and some of the greenest (sp) and well mowed grass I've seen, especially this time of year.
Thanks...'turf' is great. Amazing what a couple of cockers can do to 'real' grass.
