Our 3 Schnauzers are so smart we have to spell some words around them! Yes we do!

I do not have a clue as to how this writer came up with that list. The number 3 is the only one I would put on that list.

Amen! In fact, too high an iq (as with GSDs and BCs), can cause a lot of problems for a dog that is just expected to be a "pet."

We have five chihuahuas and one chihuahua mix I swear with Pomeranian she is the doofy one. Then my 4 1/2 pound trained she is....she learned how to wake me up through the night by scratching on the pillow when she wants me to tuck her in many times a night. Love them all. Couldn't have just one they're so great.

Measuring "intelligence" requires first defining the term, and that can encompass so many variables.

My chis are not what I'd think of as geniuses, except in the area of getting into things they shouldn't eat. Then the IQ just shoots up into the stratosphere...

My greyhound/lab cross was very very smart about a lot of things. But nothing like a border collie.

Izzy graduated second in her obedience class and she would have been first if a lab hadn't been able to run faster on the tile floor....( I'm not bitter, really I'm not ) She looks a bit worse for wear in this pic...she had just completed her trials....
