We use peanut butter with all meds, all our dogs love it and don't care that it is hiding a pill.
My DD dog is almost 16 and she has been on Proin for about two years, she gets one in the morning and one at night.
Recently she was put on the estrogen pill as she started leaking but it now seems to have improved.
There are always side effects of some sort but in her case, considering her age there are no other options except PTS which we won't do, so this she will be on until the end.
