¿Unfortunately Browser Has Stopped?

Samsung Galaxy II
Using original AT&T browser and TelCel SIMS chip.

Worked fine for a year then all of a sudden after I first open the browser the unit freezes up and the duck comes down holding the Browser Stopped message in it's bill.

Haven't downloaded anything. Been using Battery Doctor for a year so I am imagining the full-on Battery Doctor "Brush Cleaning" has cleared cache and freed RAM. Freeze up and "Cleaning" seem to be completely unrelated.

Have continued for hours after restarting the browser, and doing nothing else.

Which witch doctor do I shoot and how many dead chickens do I have to nail to the front door o stop this nonsense?

Thanks In Advance!

  • The S II is five years old and that is very old for a smartphone. If you are under contract you should be due for a free upgrade. The Galaxy S7 is coming out next month so the S6 and older versions should drop in price.

Pull the battery, wait five minutes. Restart the phone.

Restarts usually help, however once a month or so you should pull the battery for a few minutes...

Personally, I wouldn't use a program such as the witch doctor that you are referring to as they typically equate to the wolf guarding the hen house...

It is very easy for you to do the same thing.
    This should get you started

    How to uninstall apps

    Different tutorial, same results

Stop and delete all things that you don't use, however don't mess with anything that has "android" in it and you should be ok...

So many (useless to many)things are installed from factory or self installed that it eats up the ram and such. As an example, music apps will auto start (even though you are not listening to music) and use your resources in the background, slowing everything down. I won't get into the auto updates that eat up your data usage...

its what comes on the NEWer android systems
