I currently have a tail gator and I like it but I just found out we got a seasonal site we really want for next season. I'm looking for a new dish to permentely mount. I will be connecting one receiver for now but will upgrade to 2 receivers soon. I want HD what is the best dish to get?
My vote is for the 1000.4. This normally comes as an Eastern Arc (EA) -- sats 61.5, 72, and 77 -- dish, but you can also get a Western Arc (WA) -- sats 110, 119, 129 -- LNB arm for it. However, since DISH has discontinued the 1000.4, you would have to pick one up at eBay.
Though the 1000.2 can also be set up as either WA or EA, I think the 1000.4 is easier to aim.

Also can I run one line in the sat in and split to multiple receivers?
I think only the Hopper & Joeys can be done this way. Here's a
Single Coax Wiring Diagram.
All other receivers either each require their own coax from a dish or a coax through a switch like the DPP44.
I (and several others I know of) use Hopper & Joeys in our RVs. I highly recommend them because most times you can use existing RV coax to hook up the Joey receivers and they provide a Whole House DVR.
