Strange for sure if it works at home, if it has been set up before in your RV I would guess something amiss with connections. Sure would be a pain to set up without the beeps although for us we can readily view the HDTV screen from our window.
Most of the issues when setting up our sat tv when RVing have been cable or connection related. We currently have Dish network which uses a tone instead of a beep, Dish is a bit more difficult to set up primarily due to lagging response to deviations in antenna position while aiming.
