Garmin will ship its first portable navigation device (PND) intended for RV users in the summer. According to a press release, the Garmin RV 760LMT will retail for a suggested $399.http://sites.garmin.com/rv/The device features a large 7-inch screen and ability to generate routes based on the height and weight restrictions of roads and bridges. Users enter their vehicle’s height, weight, length and width to find routes suitable for their RV, the company said.Looks like competition for the other ones on the market.

Just what I have been WAITING for. I almost pulled the trigger on the Desl 760 and decided to hold off and see if an RV GPS would be released. Thank you for the great news and posting it.

Not the same thing I'm sure but: There are POI's that are available for the Garmens that will give you the same information. However, they do not allow you to include them in the routing so the OPs Garmin information would certainly be a better way to go...but in the meantime.......

Garmin website indicates 2-3 weeks for delivery if you order from Garmin.they also show a wireless backup camera with a 45' range as an accessory. If so, and if it really works at 45' that would be nice. The wireless backup cameras I've tried have been useless on a trailer, very limited range.

Glad I returned my Dezl 7560. I would have been happy with a smaller size though. The RV model must be a stripped down Dezl unit. I wonder how they changed any routing features and such.

Is not a stripped down model. Is much better for RV use, is loaded with rv parks data and uses size data for routing rv's. The Dezl was geared more to big trucks and routes accordingly. I talked with a tech at Garmin for about 20 minutes today, very friendly and helpful. Ordered one and should be here in 2-3 weeks, can't wait.

So it looks like they are making things right for everyone. I think the Sunday morning cancellation thing was one of those "OH NO!" panic moments where they pulled the plug until someone higher up could make a decision on what to do.

That is great. Can you tell if the apology was globally generated or was it a specific reply to your complaint. If it is a globally generated than I am impressed as then they would be automatically contacting ALL in this situation and trying to make it right. I suspect they are only responding to those that complained, to minimize loss.

Glad you are getting yours at the discount price. Mine will come at full; price, because I did not get an order in on time.

I never sent in a complaint email, only called CS via land line on Monday (so maybe still a specific reply, don't know). In fact the email gave me pause, as I had already been given a reorder.

I think Garmin did the right thing. I look forward to hearing reviews about this new product, especially the trip-routing and if anyone runs into any glitches w/ being routed into a non-rv friendly area or road.

Whether it is inferior not depends on what your needs are. I sold a Garmin Nuvi 3590 on eBay in order to buy the Rand McNally 7725 and it is not a decision that I regret. A blanket statement about the Rand McNally product being inferior to the Garmin product doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

Wow! Did I miss out on a great deal!

That aside - the Garmin website for this new RV GPS has not posted the manual download yet. Once that is available it will answer a lot of questions about this new RV model.
