- pianotunaNomad IIIHi,
An omnidirectional hi gain "truckers" antenna may help. If the current version of the wilson's sleek has an external antenna input I'd start with it.
It won't be cheap to do this and you may end up disappointed by the results.
One of the issues is that the old CDMA technology allowed up to ten towers to "share" the signal. GSM does not do this. But the tower networks were put in place first--so fringe areas may nearly always have poor service.
By the very nature of RV'ing we go to the edge.
If there is no signal to boost then the technology can not work to assist us. - paulcardozaExplorerX2
Get a real outside antenna if your hotspot had a connector for it.2oldman wrote:
You'll get a lot of responses about Wilson products, especially the Sleek. I have had very poor luck with any of it. I wouldn't waste your money. - 2oldmanExplorer IIYou'll get a lot of responses about Wilson products, especially the Sleek. I have had very poor luck with any of it. I wouldn't waste your money.
- BumpyroadExplorerIf you are talking about in a campground, and you are out of reach of good coverage signal strength where you are, what is the possibility of placing a standard booster like I got at walmart for about $60 in a vehicle with 120 adapter and park it half way between your RV and wifi source? might work more than 1/2 way away from source?
