JENSEN TVs

My outside TV (2608)and the inside TV (3208)are not responding with the remote or even using buttons on the side. I even unplugged the 3208, waited 15 minutes and then was able to turn it on. I went to Menu, then Channel, then Cable, then Auto Scan. It is at this point it went blank and I am unable to do anything. HELPPPPPPPPPP
  • When I did the flat screen conversion I was at the Winnebago factory getting a new dish. DW said bite the bullet and do the TV too. I wanted a Sony Vzio but was told it wouldn't work due to surround sound power driver. They suggested a Jensen instead. EVERY time I turn that thing on it reminds me how much I dislike it. Needless to say I have not been back to the factory and very unlikely I will return to Winnebago after this coach.
  • Our Skyworth lasted 5 days before packing it in and having to be sent for repair under its short warranty period. After getting it back it lasted for 8 days/hours of use.

I am going to a Toshiba combo unit and using it with an inverter. All the DC powered TV's are junk and expensive junk at that. Problem is that as LED LCD's get cheaper to make the base size is getting larger year by year. We can fit in at most a 22" set and may soon find ourselves using a laptop with a computer monitor instead.
  • The Jensen TV we had in the motorhome had a horrible viewing angle. If you were too low, it looked like a negative image due to the cheap LCD panels they use. Needless to say we got a nice Sony to replace that POS.

Jensen name is nothing more than a very cheap import which is branded with the "Jensen" name.

Now days brand names mean absolutely nothing, each and every old brand name in electronics are simply throw away stuff, often just barely getting past the warranty. Even the ones that are under warranty make it so difficult and expensive to get it replaced under warranty it still isn't worth messing with the warranty.

Scrap heap is even to kind for these worthless pieces of garbage.

Go shopping and forget about attempting to "fix" them.
This is pretty well true for most, not all but most electronics today. Even if you can find anyone to look at it the charge for just diagnosing the problem is generally half as much or more than a replacement.

I USED to work in consumer TV/stereo repair shops years ago (something like 25 yrs ago) and back then it was getting hard to "convince" people that they were better off paying $75 to repair their 10 yr old TVs.

Instead many opted to throw out a better built TV and buy a new $100 throw away which was built to last 3-4 yrs.

Now I work in industrial setting and no longer have to deal with cheap customers...

I STILL have a couple of those good well built TVs which were built in the mid 1970s that WORK just as good as new..
