Jensen tv replacement

In the long run you are going to be better off replacing it with a flat screen tv in conjunction with an inverter & a separate stand alone player that will stream, play DVD & Blue-Rays. This will open the door to more & better options & probably cost less.

All stand alone players that play Blue-Ray, also play DVD's.

I got rid of my inverter and now have a separate 12 volt DVD player, but since most movies are in the Blu Ray format, I also have a Blu Ray player that works on 12 volt. The reason I got rid of my inverter was because I wanted all electronics to be 12 volt. I now want to upgrade the tv to an LCD that has the built in DVD, but can't find one that also plays Blu Rays. I don't like the clutter and want to simplify things, that is why I want a tv that has it all.

Just to clarify...my Blu Ray player also plays DVD's, but I still want to get rid of it as well as upgrading my current 19 in. Jensen tv (model 1907), which works on 110 as well as 12 volt). I just want a 12 volt LCD tv that has it all built in.

Good luck finding any built-in DVD that plays Blu-Ray. They don't exist.

You might be looking for a unicorn that poops diamonds and rubies. I'm not sure many if any companies manufacture comparatively small televisions with built-in Blu-ray players.

The mount is almost certainly a standard VESA mount that will work with virtually any new television of a similar size. (Four screws in a square, either 75mm or 100mm apart.) If by some oddity it isn't a standard mount, there are a multitude of wall and ceiling mounting brackets available for these standard TV mounts, so it shouldn't be at all impossible to find one that would work for your installation.

We like Best Buy's "Insignia" brand in 19" TV's. What we found was the least expensive TV's had about the same Picture but very poor SOUND. In the RV, even with only two of us, the A/C makes enough noise that we need the volume up more than you'd think. Insignia can do that. So can the better big name brands like Vizio, just not the cheapies. Insignia has a 20" with onboard player about $150. But it's DVD only.
I do know the 19" uses a 120VAC>>12VDC Wall Wart style Brick, and has enough inputs to accept input from external devices.

I kinda wonder why you want to stay Jensen. If you're replacing an older format of TV, whether CRT or flat screen with the Aspect Ratio of a CRT, you'll have enough adapting to do that brand won't matter. I think they'll all have VESA mounting pads so you know you can mount them with metric screws, even if you make your own adapter.

j-d, the only reason I wanted to stay with Jensen was because of the wall mounting bracket, which I want to keep and use with whatever replacement tv I buy. The one I have is super duty steel with a swing arm. But now that I know that VESA has an industry standard for mounts, I will determine which type mount I have (I believe I have the 75mm), and buy a tv with that standard. Since it was wishful thinking on my part, the replacement tv, and not necessarily a Jensen, will have a built-in dvd player, but without Blu Ray capability. Thanks for your input.

beat me to it... Our Best Buy Insignia 19" not only is a VESA mount, it also happens to be a 12V TV. It ships with a 110V walwart, but that simply steps it down to 12V. I simply added a 12V plug and now the TV works fine on 110V or 12V.

pconroy328, is the Insignia tv the one selling at Best Buy for $149.99 (20" /19-1/2")? Does it only come in 720P? I was hoping for a 1080 in a 19 in., but don't know if that size tv comes with 1080. Also, where did you buy the 12v plug? thx for your help.

There is also a brand called Naxa. They ship both 110VAC and 12VDC cords with theirs (they are native 12VDC). They have models with built-in DVD players, but there are none that I know of that have Blu-ray players. They support VESA mounting.
