Macrium Reflect. Anyone Using it Any Comments?

I'm in the process of downloading the free program so I can image my OS. I'm curious what users of this program think about it.

I agree 100%. Disk imaging is not at all the way to go with Win 10. Those that believe otherwise are not up to speed so to speak with Windows 10.
  • I keep both Macrium and Acronis on bootable USB sticks. I find that when I clone a disk with Macrium,it won't then boot properly when I swap the discs. No such problems with Acronis. That's been the case on Windows XP, 8 and 10. Maybe I'm missing a setting in Macrium, but since Acronis works so well it hasn't been worth the effort to chase that issue down.

  • Well, it' a moot point now. I was having some vague issues installing Macrium and went with Acronis instead. I'mt rying it on a 30 day free trial. It downloaded and installed onto my external hard drive without a hitch. Used up a tiny fraction of my 1 TB drive. I do thank everyone for their input on Macrium. If for some reason I don't like Acronis I can always try Macrium again.
  • As to the question the OP asked, I use Macrium Reflect and have for some time. It seems to be as functional as any imaging program I have used and I go way back to the days of "Ghost" and quite a few others in between. I was looking for a free imaging program when I found Macrium Reflect.
  • It may not be supported but Win 10 still has the system image function. I use it once a month or so on my desktop and my wife's laptop. Both have Win 10 64 bit. I have had to use it once on each to restore Win 10 and all programs, data and settings. It went smoothly both times.
It can be found at: Control Panel/File History - System Image in the lower left side corner. You need to make a System Repair Disk/USB flash drive. It is needed to restore the system image. It can also be found using "Settings" but is harder to find and takes a lot more clicks.
