MSWord Q?

In MSWord am trying to make travel pages with words and photos. I can put a text box in, then insert a photo and wrap words around it, to the right.

But, if I insert a photo directly, if it's page width, I can write above and below it. If I insert photo in half-page width, it will let me write below it or above it, but no beside it.

How can I make the words wrap to the right of a half-page photo, and then continue full page below it?

When I try to format the photo, it will not give a words wrap feature? SO, am a little puzzled?

  • In MS Word -

If you left click on a picture that you put in directly you can resize it to whatever size you want. Then right click on the picture and you will have a formatting box that will let you set text around the image, put on a caption, and a lot more.

It is easier to use the text box with an image inside it if you may want to move the image around on the page at a latter editing of your document. Again, in the text box you can do the same things as I say above.
  • If you are doing very much of this type of work you might want to check out Scribus. It is an open source free desktop publisher. Very powerfull, but it does have a learning curve. I used it for several years to put out a quarterly newsletter.

    Just google scribus.

    Whoa....someone needs a nap!
  • And stop calling monkey44 a girl ... she's not. :) :)

Yes, we have Publisher, but it won't allow a conversion to the format we need later. But MSWord does convert ...

Kiwi too ... yes, right click does it. I was trying to format like a text box and it wouldn't let me. But click on photo pops up the format and works fine. The simple things are never simple if you don't know it. :) :) Thanks M44

  • In MS Word, right click on the pic and choose "Wrap text". There are several options to wrap text around or even through a pic.
