Samsung.. WHY, I have not been able to find the signal strength meter in the Vizo's that I have looked at.

Have to admit there is NO signal strength meter on the Vizio.
But I'm 'still' happy with it because so far its the only one that doesn't pixel freeze all the time. - DutchmenSportExplorer

To the posters, are your recommendations based on using them IN the RV using the batwing antenna?
...
Both our Samsungs in the camper run off the batwing with no problems at all. The television in the living room also runs off Dish Satellite, same receiver we use in the house.
In the house, all of our televisions (Samsung) are running on Dish, and each one has an all directional (little square flat box) antenna for over-the-air stations. All our televisions work with absolutely no problems for both Satellite or over-the-air, batwing, or all directional antennas.
We bought my mother a Samsung a few years ago when her old television died. She runs it strictly on rabbit ears! Yea, the two long wires that stick up in the air about 5 feet! She gets fabulous reception and a multitude of channels!
My batwing on my TT pulls in more stations than the over-the-air (square) antennas in the house. In the trailer (driveway camp), we get about 60-65 different over-the-air stations, from all directions: Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, New Castle, Lafayette. It's simply awesome.
In the house we get less than half of that with the same televisions. I suppose those signals don't like all the electric wiring running through the house. And outside on the camper, the batwing is up in the air with nothing blocking it.
We live in the country (flat ground) surrounded by corn and bean fields. No obstructions. Great signals from all directions. No problems with over-the-air on Samsung. - wa8yxmExplorer IIISamsung.. WHY, I have not been able to find the signal strength meter in the Vizo's that I have looked at.

Get a good picture on all. Pick up plenty if CH. On the Ant. - rockhillmanorExplorer IITo the posters, are your recommendations based on using them IN the RV using the batwing antenna?
Because my experience with "reception using the RV antenna" didn't prove to me that the high end ones worked better. In fact the ones I bought didn't.
These TV's are designed to work off cable. Which is what most people use them on. IMHO some brands must have incorporated a better reception board to utilize antenna's. Perhaps this board is more expensive to add and some simply use the lesser board that works well just off cable to keep their prices down?
I see a marked difference on which ones can actually use the reception from an RV antenna. I beat my head against the wall spinning the antenna around, moving the MH, etc. trying to get reception thinking it was where I was parked. Only to find out it was the TV itself. - SCVJeffExplorerSamsung (the high end ones) are considered 1st tier, next to Sony and a very few others, Viseo, LG, etc., is considered 2nd tier.
IMO Samsung has the best and most consistent colorimetry of any of them hands down, and that includes Sony. Nothing wrong with the Viseo, but the Samsung it the best of the two by far. - rvtenExplorerHave 2 Visio TV in MH and one in house. Working great.
- 8ironExplorerIf you have Apple TV and Roku don't bother with a smart tv. If it were me I would go with the one with best picture AND that had digital audio out that actually throughputs Dolby Digital...found out the hard way that many brands don't and now I am using my HT receiver as an A/V switch and it's a pain.
- fj12ryderExplorer IIIAll else being equal, go for the larger one. You'll never be sorry going bigger.
