I copied all my photos with a camera, bought a camera copy stand, fairly easy to switch sizes, adjust coverage, etc. once you have them on a thumb drive, just go to wal mart etc. and print them out. heard an ad on the radio for "free" printing? slides I copied with a slide copier on my Nikon.
most of the prints I copied using an old sony mavica that saved them on an old 3 1/2 inch floppy. very low pixel count but gave great results. which makes sense to me, if it can take a decent picture at infinity it is actually overkill for a 8x10 photo.
