There was no monthly fee when I used OneSuite. I had it for at least ten years. Made a deposit, put a reminder on my calendar to check that there was money left in it once in a while, no troubles. It can be used automatically on your home phone and they give you a code, like one of the card codes, to use on other phones. I have not used it for a year because I moved and my new landline service includes long distance.

I heard back from them and they want a minimum of $10 deposit and 0.029c per minute for calls. sounds doable. nothing about a monthly fee? cheaper to call china?

that seems very similar to my 1-800 cards, but I see there is a monthly subscription fee in addition to minute charge. didn't want to go too far into site to see what the monthly fee was.
next week I will be able to check my current card and see if there is anyway to contact the provider. my current cell phone gives sort of erratic service at the S&B.
I just emailed them to see monthly fee, cost per minute in US, and if any per call connection fee.
my questions must be tough. they will respond back in 24-48 hours. :)

Is this a landline? Google Voice(GV) allows free long distance calls in the US and Canada. International calls are pretty cheap. You basically call your Google Voice phone number, can be a local number if available, and follow prompts to make a call(long distance). You can also dial from a computer, and GV will call back and connect you from a landline.

If you have decent Net connection, cable internet, you can buy a Obihai box that will allow you to connect a wired/wireless phone directly to GV and dial any local/long distance call directly. Just like you would do with any phone.

thanks, that is similar to what I was interested in but they have a 49 cent connection fee per call and 99 cents a month fee.
the card/s I currently have you just buy and use prepaid minutes. sort of like my tracfone operates.
