rvnd 7720 intersections

For the life of me I can not understand how to enter an intersection in my 7720. I checked the user manual and any online video help from RM excludes any mention of the intersection feature.

Can anyone help out there?
  • Ah.. maps out of date? Jeff's suggestion of putting in the lat/long is a good one too. of course you get that somewhere else.

Any hope of an owner's manual? Or tapping the map?

yeah owners manual was junk when it came to highway intersections.

First Problem solved..it should be I-84, not any of the other choices I had tried.

next problem is that the intersection with CT-8 in Waterbury CT is not an option to pick, yet it very much is in real life.

Oh, highways! That is something different entirely. I have been an avid user of GPS devices of many brands for over 10 years and I have never found one that handles intersections involving highways and interstates successfully. I wouldn't even try it in my opinion. You are much better off getting the latitude and longitude of the location and then entering that into the Rand McNally.

How about highways? I am actually trying to get Rt-84 to come up and have tried US, CT, interstate..... Crap, never tried I-84,I will have to try that later.

    Thanks

LOL! Hmmmm I am determined to make it work! Or buy a new GPS!

  • In the main menu select choose destination and then select new location and then select intersection. The next thing you have to do is either tell it what city the intersection is in or what zip code. If you're going to tell it the city then you need to simply start typing the city in until you see it or if there are many cities with that name you have to push the list button. If you want to search by zip code then you have to push the button that says zipcode search. Once you select the city then you type in the primary street name and after you select the primary Street you type in the second intersecting street. when you are typing in the street names only type in the main part of the street. In other words if you're looking for a street called Northwest Harbor Drive only type in the word Harbor and the GPS will show you all iterations of street names that contain Harbor.
