Verifying employer for cell phone contract.

I use the retired military discount with Verizon. When I first got that, I had to show my retiree ID card in the store. I got the same notice a few weeks ago, scanned my ID card (the one without the SSAN) and uploaded for them to look at. I'm good to go again.

Thanks for the quick reply. I guess I'll just take my work ID tag to the Verizon store and show it to them. I just can't believe they would expect someone to mail them a paystub.

Not only retired, just had to serve to get 15% off, need to take in your DD 214

I sent them a copy of my last military retirement pay statement. Had to show my military ID to originally get signed up.

I was in the AF for 8 years so I have two DD214's All I need to do is take those down to Verizon right?... I just recently lost my discount from the last company I was working for before retiring so really could use that extra 15% off the bill...

I am also retired from civil service and have a combined CS and AF military time of 42 years.

They just did the same thing to us.

When I got the letter, then the email telling me the same thing, I went to the Verizon company store and they REFUSED to accept my ID card as proof of employment. Said the government had stopped allowing the use of the ID card for identification and I had to provide a DD-214 or similar proof. I was not a happy camper, but went home, scanned the card and sent it to the email address they gave in their email. Bingo, one week later I get notified that they accepted that as proof and I was good to go.....So much for their employees in the store being of any assistance.

I get a 19% discount from Verizon thru my employer and about a week ago I had to provide my work email address so they could reconfirm my employment/eligibility for the discount. They sent an email to my work address with a link I had to click on to complete the process. EZ Peazy.

I've been getting the discount for the past 6 years and this is the first time they asked me to reconfirm.

Yep been with Sprint since 2002 and they sent me notice about 2 weeks ago that I had to show proof. Been retired since 2000 with direct deposit so I had to go into my ex work site and pull up a copy of my direct deposit slip. Then I pasted it into
Paint where I scribbled out all of the important stuff and upload that. Got my reply back Wednesday that they took it. Get 20% with GE
