Replace it with a retrofit LED and never worry about it again... Problem solved.
What the heck is a 'Scare Light' anyway????
The Scare Light is the big round (about 8-9 inches) WHite light on the side of many RV's. it takes a 11256 (25 to 29 watt) lamp making it the brightest light in the RV.. Most porch lightes only take a 20 watt or smaller. It is designed to scare away things that threaten the RV like burglers or bears I guess so they call it a scare light. Absolutly useless far as I'm concerned and I've parked in bear country. A TAC-LIGHT flashlight is every bit as good.. I've used, not one of those but a lesser larger flashlight to good effect in the past (And there in lies a longer story but I'll omit) Taught a bunch of folks a major lesson the next morning.
