This post is just ridiculous..... A Hemi Ram with a WDH can't tow a 7000# trailer. Right.
To the OP, keep an eye on rear axle weight and you will be fine. In some circumstances the 3.55 gears work out better, as it may allow you to run a lower rpm in a lower gear at cruise. And the Hemi is a great engine for work. Enjoy!
numbers are numbers.....it is entirely up to the person hooking it up whether you want to believe them or not.
The OP mentioned his "tow rating" was 8500lbs which if it was a boat may work but a high front TT with a hitch weight in excess of 1000lbs his truck shouldn't haul..will it?..of course but I was merely saying it isn't a figure which should be taken into consideration as many other limits will be far exceeded.
I almost guarantee that the trailer he is looking at loaded to camp hooked onto his truck and taken to a Cat scale would show the rear axle and payload of the truck exceeded.
will he hurt anything??? doubtful..will he kill anyone??? unlikely but numbers are numbers and if you do not want to know the numbers than why ask at all.
