I've found it much easier to locate "bunk house" floor plans in TT than in FW. Most FW it seems are designed for a couple with no kids.
I wouldn't want to give up the bed space for bikes, firewood, generator, grill, tool box, gas cans, etc. Also, I like that if my truck breaks down or isn't available for a trip I could pretty easily borrow a truck from a friend to tow a TT. It would be much harder to find a suitable rig to tow a FW.
I disagree that a 2500 series truck is "plenty" for a family of 5 and a fairly large TT. Particularly if you're talking about a 4wd truck with a lot of options. After loading the family in the truck and toys in the bed you will likely be very close on remaining payload for what will likely be a rather large amount of tongue weight.
