There ARE numerous CG's available off the beaten path in every town you can go to avoid the popular party CG's.

My guess was you managed to hit the most popular one! IMHO I would have recorded the swearing on my iPhone, played it back to the CG owner and simply asked the CG for a refund and left and found another CG. Just saying.

WHOA, STOP! That is not always legal! In some states, recording without consent is a FELONY!

If they are in private. But sitting in your own campsite and recording the "sounds of nature" is not illegal.

X2 - you can record anything that one would reasonably expect to be heard in a public place. In your bathroom ... No. Outside where anyone would reasonably hear it during normal conversation... No problem. I'm surprised Don Sterling hasn't sued the pants of those who recorded his "private" conversations.

Why complain here if you aren't gonna complain to management. You can always tell management to not let the campers know who complained. Then again, the people on the other side of the camper could of complained (or anyone else) and they could assume it was you. If you feel that your wife will not be safe in a campground (any campground), then you should not leave her there alone period. No matter which campground it is. You already show that you have no faith in the management there. So why even bother staying?

I can understand that owners/managers like to keep the money rolling in however they can. I can't understand why the drunks don't save some of their money by just drinking in their own back yards until they pass out.

So the op chose not to say anything because he was leaving.... I understand that part but why is it the cg's fault if there was no complaint to them. I guess they could have been driving around and witnessed the noise but again no complaint.

My issue with your post is where you say post a review on every possible review site and I'm guessing you are implying bad reviews. You are one of the reasons the review system is broke because with your attitude the reader only gets part of the story. If your gonna post a review then the op should post it just like he did here, don't bash the cg if you didn't give them a chance to fix the problem.

You get that same situation anywhere! state, county, USFS, NP, private whatever! no matter what the rules state!

BTW, I`ve never run into anything like that.

We just got home from our Memorial Day campout at a commercial/private campground. Unlike your experience, we thoroughly enjoyed being there. As we no longer travel with children, it was refreshing to hear them laughing at the lake and talking as the walked or rode their bikes around to the playground. Nobody was yelling, cursing, or playing loud music. If they were drinking, the kept it to themselves.

We chose this campground because we know the owners well. They don't put up with loud, raucous partiers. They run a family place and people who disturb the peace aren't allowed to stay long. Our only complaint this weekend is that it rained out our weinie roast.

IMHO it tells me the campground where you stayed is poorly run/poorly managed. If it was run/managed correctly they would have had at least one staff members circulating through the campground on a hourly basis and at the very least at the start of quite time. Since this did not happen then it can be only two things they are poorly run or they do not care. I am not a campground owner or worker but I would advise not to condemn all commercial campgrounds because of one poorly run one or one that does not care.
Again INMHO if you had cell coverage you could have called the campground and placed an anonymous complaint. However since this campground was not doing what they should have been doing I do not know if it would have made any difference.
As far as boon docking the worst experience we have ever had camping was at a boon docking site. Loud music, people screaming, cussing, fighting and loud Harley's ALL and I do mean ALL night long. And not smart to complain to anyone since they were all LAW ENFORCMENT OFFICERS yes LAW ENFORCMENT OFFICERS from all over the county on a let there hair down weekend.

I've been RVing for 11 years in my current 'C' and before that in a 'B' and that's never happened to me. But I stay in private FHU CGs that have owners. For them, it isn't a summer job. Its their business. They can't afford to have bad reviews.
And I do read "RV Park Reviews". If an RV Park gets a bad review among a bunch of good reviews, its often about something I don't care about. No swimming pool or playground equipment, or no exercise area for a dog. I've actually seen someone get kicked out of a private CG. Whatever they did wrong, I didn't notice it.

Alas, one of Murphy's laws is when ever you get a large enough gathering of people.. Some of them will be inconsiderate slob idiots.

This can be your next door neighbor's back yard at home. Or a group on the beach, or .. Well you described a campground.

You do have an advantage in a campground.. Management reserves the right to ask them to camp elsewhere if they are as you described.. Tell management. I have seen it happen (Though I was not the complainer that day) .
