Ammo Container?

Interested in knowing how those of you that carry a lot of ammo store it while on the road. Do you have a separate ammo container or fire box specifically for it?

I am not asking about any gun regs, crossing state lines, laws or anything of the sort.
Just would like specifics on ammo storage.

Guess this kinda goes along with the zombie apocolypse thread :B

Thanks in advance.

Seriously, how much you looking to load on board?

Well, now we have three military ammo boxes full plus some. It is a lot of weight though.
Trying to see how others do it and how they store it. Think I might have to decrease the amount instead of increasing before full timing next spring.
Full timers, do you keep it in a fire box?
  • That's right! I forgot the new episodes of Walking Dead are now on Netflix! :B

Seriously, how much you looking to load on board? Ammo cans as mentioned will keep it secure and dry and easy to transport if need be. I bought a case of South African once and it came in a heavy metal square box with a rubber seal and latches. 'Course, that was back when you could still get stuff like that and not have to sell your gold teeth to pay for it. If you don't care if it's locked and secure, the heavy plastic boxes at Lowes are pretty nice. They can hold 400 lbs and have a lid. I carry my firewood in them and they're pretty tough.
  • I leave it in the boxes that it came in and stack it in a closet.
  • Lol. That is why I specifically stated storage.... No laws or anything else.
All I am inquiring about is STORAGE of ammo.
    That's it!
Please don't let it go there, please. :E
  • Just one old fashion Military metal ammo box.

I'd like to carry more but can't afford 24/7 security, stuff is to expensive.
  • Oh Cheryl, Cheryl, Cheryl! You know not what you've done.

    More likely, you do. :)

I'll give it 3 pages or 38 posts, whichever comes first!
