Battery toggle switch

My battery toggle switch has an on/off/actuator , what does the actuator do? Can someone explain how to use or what’s it for?

  • Make and model of your rig?
If you are talking the battery disconnect switch like on many rigs, it energizes or deenergizes a relay to connect or disconnect battery power to the rig.
During storage many shut off their batteries after fully charging. Normal operation the batteries would be left energizes(on).
  • Battery disconnect switch. there is still some paracidic draw when turned off, CO, lp, radio.
  • Wish I could help you with the question, but have never seen a actuator on the battery disconnect switch.

Exactly why Installed this right off the battery. Battery to switch to rest of 5th wheel. Eliminates all parasitic draw.

My 5th wheel is in a storage yard so not always plugged in.

Not if wired properly, In/Out all accessories should be on the out, kills everything.

Weeks in the Marina, turn battery cutoff on and start.
  • It's all guessing anyway. Online define says an actuator is a device that causes a machine or other device to operate.

My guess is your unit has something or other that needs power during storage, or maintenance or whatever; a time when you want the rest of the house "Off". "On" of course being normal operation.
