Camp Chef stove and oven

Has anyone on the forum tried or owns one of the Camp Chef portable stove and oven ? If you have how did you like it or didn't like it ? I am thinking about one and would like your input. Thanks
  • I have the 3 burner stove that I put on my Avion Camper/Trailer. It works great. It gives you 30,000 btu of heat. I bought the two burner griddle and the two burner grill. I also use the 3rd burner for dutch oven cooking with the diffuser plate and tent.

We can cook for an entire Cub Scout pack. The stove is great, but it is large, and many RVs may not have the room for one.
  • I bought one a year or two ago when I saw a 50% sale. I like: the 2 eye stove top. Very easy and convenient, the oven works well and can get to 400 degrees quickly. I don't like: unit size. You need to find a low table that's sturdy enough to stay stable that puts the stove top at the right height. The oven creates "hot spots" that will burn casseroles/biscuits and the like. We found that a good, heavy cast iron skillet fits in the oven and is great for biscuits as it conducts heat evenly.
I won't go camping without it now. It does keeps the clutter and smell out of the unit.
  • Thanks for all of the info., I ordered my oven stove today and can't wait to try it out, already plan on baking biscuits in it. Thanks again.
  • I have the Camp Chef stand alone oven. It works pretty good (it cannot keep up with the convection oven in the RV though). I like the idea of a separate stove from the oven as we don't always need/take the oven.

I also have a Camp Chef Everest two burner stove. It is really good. Excellent regulation. It boils super fast and can be run down to a super low simmer (which many powerful stoves can't do). We also have a Camp Chef LP camp fire. It's really good too.

I am a big Camp Chef fan, needless to say.

I just splurged and bought the Pro 90 3 burner and 24" wide flat-top for it. I also added another quick connect and hose from Fairview fittings to connect it directly to my camper.

This stove is fantastic, I can't imagine cooking on my coleman stove ever again. Once coleman stopped making their 3 burner stoves, I wasn't sure what I would do for a 3 burner. I'm very glad I bought a camp chef. The only thing that could make it better would be if it was made in the U.S. .

I've had my camp chef pro 90 and 24" griddle for 4 trips now. This thing is amazing. Judging by the way this thing cooks and how it's built, I'm sure you couldn't go wrong with anything by camp chef. It just blows away the Coleman roadtrip that I had before.

I also just ordered the dutch oven dome, I haven't had a chance to try it yet but from what I have seen, it looks slick.
  • We've had the 2 burner burner stand with single size grill & single size griddle for several years. For our purposes we love it at home but for short term travel/stays it is too bulky and heavy to haul around with us. We have a portable gas grill for travel. I think for fulltimers or long term travels and stays it would be great, just not for quick stops.
  • I have two camp chef products, one is a two burner stove the other is a fire ring camp fire. Both are quality products and very well made. Both have a lot of btu's. I highly recommend camp chef products from my experience.
  • We have one and we use it quite frequently as we hate cooking inside the RV. One recommendation I have is to get the LP pigtail that allows you to hook it directly to the LP tanks of the RV or to the LP accessory connection that some RV's have.
