Changing Color of Roof

We picked up a new Outback a few weeks ago. Great new color combo with cream sides, black cap and all the exterior side wall accessories like plugs, HWH cover, awning arms in black. I painted my AC shround and Maxx Air covers black as well. Downside is I got an early production and the roof is white and with the radius roof on the Outback the roof curves over the side and you can see about 3" of the roof on the sides.

Seems the ones being produced now have an off-white roof to better match the cream walls. Can the entire roof be re-coated in an off-white color? I would even consider just doing the 3" that overhangs the sides and a few inches on the top of the roof since you really cant see the roof unless you are on top of it or looking down on it. tks

True statement. I applied it crooked to my last RV roof and finally gave up trying to remove it....what should have been an hour job, turned into an all day boondoggle that made me look like a self-licking ice cream cone...

How about using black Eternabond on the visible edges?

Now that is a thought. Just got on their website. They sell tan and black in 4 and 6" widths. 6" would give me better coverage. My fear is I would start to apply this and I would get some wrinkles in it since I am applying it on a roof that curves down to the side walls and it would look like crud. Probably once on its on and no turning back.
  • Check into Lizard Skin...stuff sounds like it may do the trick if tinted. Lizard Skin

Check into Rhino Lining...I think the whole roof is removed, so roof warranty would be a moot point.

  • Any coating you out on the roof membrane will likely void roof warranty. White is best color for reflecting heat.
  • Leave it outside for a winter w/o a cover and it will probably be tan.
  • Does it really matter? I don't know of anything that would change the color except time and dirt. Be careful painting those covers on the roof. Chances are if it sticks..it will probably fade like crazy and look like XXXX in a few months. I would just leave it all alone. Nobody else will notice either. JMHO
