Clean water

I guess DH and I drank too much hose water when we were kids to be bothered with the taste of it nowadays. We do have two filters on our incoming water and our coffee and tea tastes just fine to us.
But then, neither one of us is much of a gourmet drinker. :)

We buy water for drinking and for hot tea. (Canadians need there hot tea)We have a number of 1 gallon jugs that we refill at the machines at Walmart or grocery stores. Much less expensive and not all the garbage. In the RGV we refill our jug for 15 cents at HEB supermarkets.

I used to use bottled water and I got a bit lazy from buying and storing them. I use this at hydrant side of life and also bought a Brita filter and I do not have the "garden hose" taste. I do agree with distilled water for coffee....taking out minerals greaty affects the taste.

I installed a r/o system. Solved drinking water issues.

We live off our onboard water tank as we mostly dry camp. We use bottled water for drinking but have found that bottled water around the country tends to vary in taste. We always run the bottled water through a Pur pitcher which removes the taste. Works for us.

We also don't drink water from the rv. We use bottled water.

I do NOT ever drink or use the water for cooking from the RV holding tank. There's a whole nuther thread going on about that!

Regarding coffee making:
If you really want a GREAT tasting cup of coffee buy a bottle of 'distilled water'.(not the one from the baby isle that has a ton of junk added to it) Just 100% pure distilled water from the bottled water isle.


Once you go distilled water for coffee you will never go back!

We take gallons for cooking and drinking and have bought the 2 gallon with a spigot that you put on counter. My camper is old and I have no idea how the tank was treated before me. I did give it a HEAVY dose of Clorox when I bought it.
BTW, the white RV hoses don't give water a bad taste IMO. It's what the CG offer that is sometimes not so good in the taste and smell department.

Never have 'tasted' anything but water using a 'potable water hose'

Now I have tasted 'hose' when grabbing a gulp from regular old garden hose used in yard.
