Day/Night Shades Question

I'm online ordering some Day/Night shades to replace my mini blinds in my RV. It asks the question "inside the frame" or "outside the frame" and I'm a little confused about what this means exactly.

Here's what it says:

. This shade will be mounted:

Inside the window frame
Outside the window frame

This is the kind of window and blinds I have right now:

  • I'm assuming inside the frame, but I don't know that the frame they are talking about is the window frame or that decorative thing surrounding it that is considered the frame.
  • These would be outside frame windows for there is no box that blinds would fit into like some our your house windows might be. The decorative framing around our camper windows is not part of the actual window.
  • Look at the top of the window and see if the blind is inside the frame or outside. It looks like yours are outside but it is difficult to tell by the picture. Outside will always work, inside will have to be short enough to go inside the frame.
  • I order lots of blinds and the terminology is common. Here is what it means;

    inside mount;
    The seller will automatically subtract a small amount from your measurements and supply brackets for mounting inside a window opening.

    outside mount;
    The seller will ship the dimensions you order and supply brackets for mounting to the surface of a flat wall.
  • We have day/Night shades currently and am thinking seriously about getting regular blinds soon. We have had to restring many of the current ones a couple of times. The sun and lots of use seem to be killers to the strings. Each restringing takes about an hour or so, with larger ones taking over two hours. Not a difficult job but time consuming. Something to consider BEFORE changing. :(
