And definitely a dually is going to be a lot more stable at the limits than a SRW. Other than costs, what are the downsides to a WDH? It doesn't seem like there really is one, so I'll probably err on the side of caution.
There aren't any downsides, but like swetlou and nevadanick said, it very likely isn't necessary, unless it's a bad towing trailer. If the tongue weight is too light, the antisway wil come in handy but weight dist is not needed then. If tongue weight is right then it shouldn't sway.
It can't hurt, but the benefits may be of diminishing returns.
I've asked this before, since I've somehow managed to never use a wdh but have towed literally a hundred different trailers or more in most every trailer and truck configuration up to 7-8tons on bumper pulls. I don't understand what is magical about a TT other than SOME of those TT s aren't well proportioned for weight and handle like ****. Key word being some.
I get it when you have heavy tongue weights on light duty pickups, weekend warrior tugging his big TT with the Ford Expedition type scenario. I've also asked a rv transporter ( pursuant to this belief that if one is towing anything called a TT it needs a wdh belief on rvnet here). He doesn't use one period. Tows daily with a 2500 mega cab.......you know, that truck that all the rvnet weight cops say has so low a payload it should be a half ton.......
Bottom line if I were you, I'd hook up the trailer, try it out. See if you need one or not in YOUR opinion.
