Our dog is trained not to bark when left alone, and campers report that he does not.
He is a dog and nothing is absolute, so we also have a sign in the window. It says:
"We have one dog inside. In case of emergency: Please Rescue.
In non-emergency situations or excessive barking:
Please call our mobile at XXX-XXXX-XXXX.
We desire to be good camping neighbors and appreciate your help."
Works for us.
Very nice. Very thoughtful.

It *is* very nice and very thoughtful....so now "Dog Folks" are made aware Fido is barking while they are gone.....
but that still doesn't answer the OP's question:
"What do dog owners do about it?" ..:h
.
Did you not read the previous 8 pages? One word: Training
.
Did you not read the OP's post?.
"If dog owners who leave their dogs in their RV all day while out touring and their dogs bark none stop all day while they are gone are made aware of that when when they get back. What do the dog owners do about it?" (as posted).

Don't think he means in the future, (IMO) he means a 'situation' that needs to be resolved - right then..."when they get back".
Maybe the OP could clarify - for the dog owners, or the dogs, ROTFL!
Woof..;)
