Ya know ... it works both ways: How about fast drivers stop irritating/scaring/in-dangering us (RV) folks who wish to drive 0 to 5 MPH under the speed limits?
My patience has long ago run out with law breakers always ruling the roost. How about the bad guys/speeders "not always" getting their way on the roadways? How about the concept that fast drivers are the ones making it dangerous instead of slow drivers are the ones that are making it dangerous? :S
As has been said before it’s the “out of norm” drivers that make it dangerous, too slow or too fast. The roost always has been and always will be ruled by what most people want to do. - troubledwatersExplorer IIIIf there is a fast driver scaring/endangering you, do you want him on your bumper right behind you for 20 miles?
Or several miles down the road in front of you?
Cause not matter what you do YOU can't change his behavior. But YOU can change yours. - pnicholsExplorer IIYa know ... it works both ways: How about fast drivers stop irritating/scaring/in-dangering us (RV) folks who wish to drive 0 to 5 MPH under the speed limits?

- RayJaycoExplorerRoad rage has become quite the problem. People get shot for it, ran off the road, etc... Not saying that it is ok or right to do that, however it happens. Being in the right, yet being dead doesn't really help...
There will always be speeders. Even in London with cameras everywhere... You are not going to stop it by appointing yourself as a private citizen highway police...
A person habitually riding in the left lanes directly and indirectly causes problems as you don't or can't know the reason that someone is in a hurry... They cause accidents because they basically force people to take chances to get around them... Self-centered, selfish people? Perhaps...
I have a friend that intentionally gets in the left lane and goes the exact speed limit because he says that he pays taxes and has a right to. I told him to look in the mirror. A long string of cars behind and open road in front... I won't ride with him anymore... Sorry, however I can't agree with that line of reasoning...
IMHO, the most dangerous place to be is beside someone as you have no warning or reaction time if they leave their lane...
I pass and get over. If someone is coming up behind me at a fast rate, "I" get out of "their" way. You never know what or why they are doing it. Why be a buttho!e, let them go...
Left lane zombie will get on the interstate, head straight to left lane and stay there, never looking behind. I have seen many make a quick dart over when they are about to miss their exit...
I know many people that believe they are a safe driver because they drive the speed limit. Many of them will quickly pull out in front of traffic and then gradually speed up causing everyone behind to hit the brakes.
There is more to being a safe driver that merely going the speed limit... Of course there is a certain type of person that can't understand that...
Driving is a privilege, not a right. Be courteous. Causing others problems without reason, doesn't make you a good person nor a good driver... - JohnG3Explorer II

Many times there is far too much traffic for one lane. When driving between Tucson and Phoenix traffic has to be in both lanes, no way that much traffic could fit in a single file.
I think driver's should be able to choose their lane, after all, they're paying road taxes for all of the lanes. If someone is holding up traffic in one of the lanes then they should be dealt with rather than banning everyone from a lane.
The one issue that needs to be addressed is the drivers who seem to think they were chosen for lane monitoring. The drive in a position next to the vehicle in the number two lane for miles causing a blockage. - Cummins12V98Explorer III"States like California where there are 70 mph speed limits for passenger vehicles, but 55mph for trucks"
This can create very dangerous conditions. But hey Trucks are EVIL !!! - Grit_dogNavigatorYou know you’re getting old when you’re arguing on the internet about how fast those dang people drive nowadays. There oughta be a law against that!

I don't think so, since not everyone in the right lane is going slow. Some are bookin' right along and, amazingly enough, are caught by surprise by a slow-mover in the lane ahead of them. To my mind, the main problems are inattention and speed differential. And that applies to any lane.JaxDad wrote:

Sorry, but there's no morality in people driving like they're in a NASCAR race while I and my family are sharing the road with them. Excessive speed is always a hazard, that's the meaning of the word "excessive". If you think people are going to drive at a safe and reasonable speed without enforcement, then you've been living in a cave.
So if someone driving 15 or 20 mph over the speed limit is acting immorally and putting lives at risk, then States like California where there are 70 mph speed limits for passenger vehicles, but 55mph for trucks, or M/H’s doing 55 - 60 mph in amongst vehicles traveling much faster is inherently very dangerous?
AS long as those slower moving vehicles are in the right lane it's OK.
The problems start when they are traveling slow in the left lane:S - buckyExplorer IINow Jax, don't bring logic into this. :)
