- sempkaExplorerThe bad part about driving in Germany is when you are doing 200 kph and the semi that you want to pass pulls into the left lane at 80 kph cause he pass another semi doing 79 kph...

In Germany everyone moves over or guns it to pass so they don’t hang out in the left lane. I was going 180-200kph and getting passed like I was standing still. My rental had a sticker stating the tires were rated for 230kph. When I got back from Germany it was a stark contrast where people just seem to live self-centered and don’t care that they are making others slow down. Not only is it discourteous it also wastes others’ gas slowing down then speeding up. Of course the discourteous jerk will complain that they can just go as fast as them, which is usually a few miles over anyways. Followed a lady going 10 miles over and she noticed I wanted around her, she pointed to the speed limit like it was supposed to say something. All while she could have moved over and we both could have gone on our merry way. Too many people want conflict on the roads. I call it the manufactured victim syndrome. - hotpepperkidExplorer

I notice that the list is nine years old. In the case of at least one state--Michigan--the law has changed to "left lane for passing only".
Oklahoma has passed a law that you can not impede traffic in the left lane.
Good for Oklahoma, every state should have that law - sempkaExplorer

Washington State also has slower traffic move to the right law. They also passed a stiffer fines law for fast lane "campers" and that they would increase ticketing.
But I have yet to see that. - hornet28Explorer

While that map may be 10 yrs old look at Mi. again. It says "must move if blocking traffic". If someone has to pass a slower car on the right then the driver in the left lane is "blocking traffic". Some may take offense but, if you are a left lane driver when the right lane is open you're either ignorant or feel you can drive where ever you want and to he%# with what others do. It's really a matter of being courteous which seems for the most part too have been lost - wnjjExplorer II

Not only that, Oregon has a specific law for trucks, trailers and “campers” that has always forbidden left lane travel except for passing. They’re working on passing a similar law for all vehicles. - hornet28ExplorerLook here for a map showing the law for states
