Duh! I could've had a V8! ;)
And I do!
I traded my V10 in for a 3.5 ecoboost with the 10 spd transmission; best upgrade I ever made. Maybe you should see what you're missing.
I test drove a 3.5 beast and it had plenty of get up and go on the test uphill I chose. Could not afford from that dealer. The dealer I bought from had several F150s with the option packages I desired BUT most were way out of my price range with a lot more options than I wanted to pay for. The only Max Tow was on a Platinum ;( All the 3.5EB were attached to loaded XLTs and higher packages.
I think the current 5.0 is a fairly recent version. Ford had a LOT of engines they called 5.0L but were quite different from each other. My first car was a used 1966 Mustang with 70,000 miles on it, considered high mileage at the time (1975). 289 V8 4bbl carb 3 speed automatic convertible in red with black top and interior. Never had more of a power to weight ratio in a vehicle. 1984 Mazda RX7 GSL-SE was similar power to weight. My 1998 Expedition 5.4 had the grunt but not the response. Just a few examples. This 2019 V8 reminds me of that Mustang when I floor it ;)
