OR...like me, if you've had a good experience with one, stay with them until they mess up, or if you've had a bad experience with one, give the other one a shot.
I too have to add to my earlier post, like several in here, all I did was sign a paper and that was it...we also received several calls from the Lady that had taken our call to make sure all was well..actually felt she was concerned with our dilemma....really liked this about their follow up - EsoxLuciusExplorerFlip a coin? - Dog_TrainerExplorerI had a real life experience with CN this summer. I had a do not shift light come on in Leavenworth Washington. After several hours of trying to troubleshoot and fix the problem It was apparent I needed to be towed to a repair facility. I called CN and in about 3 hours a tow truck showed up to tow me It went very well and the tow driver seemed very competent. I rode with him and we chatted about the towing business and how the different companies try to beat the tow drivers down over cost. He stated that sometimes the GS company which is contracted by out to a company other than GS would beat on him after the tow and would always want to haggle about the price they agreed upon. He told me GN also wants to Haggle but before the tow and never after they agreed. He stated he would not tow for GS. The charge was $750.00 and all I did was to sign his bill CN took it from there. They also kept in contact until the driver showed and the tow was complete. Now I have no idea as to how it would have went with GS as I have had the insurance from both GS & GN over the many years we have been rvers. I had a good experience with GS and according to the tow driver/owner It would have been a different tow company with GS but who knows maybe that would have went just as well. I just did not like what he told me about the GS policy from his view.
- NC_HaulerExplorerI've had both GS ERS and now Coach Net....Both have treated me well, though, when I had GS, I never really had any MAJOR issues...but, to my wife and I, while we had Coach Net, we had ONE MONSTER MAJOR concern to us and though some may not want to believe this, I've told this several times on here and it is true:
I own about 3/4's of an acre of land on the Greenbriar River in the middle of nowhere in Pence Springs WV (set up as a campsite, water, sewage and power)...it was April two years ago and it rained and rained and rained and the river was approaching flood stage and they were calling for it to come onto our lot and even higher...normally not a problem for us, but when I hooked up to my 5er, (16,000#), I GOT STUCK UP!!! MY TRUCK GOT STUCK UP!!!!...I have to admit, though I didn't show it to my wife, inside I was starting to panic...I was setting at a 45 degree angle to my 5er....(scary)...I was able to jack up the 5er, unhook and drive the truck out...BUT 5er is still on the property and river was lapping at the banks of our property..Didn't know what to do, but called Coach Net and told them my story...gave them a GPS location of where I was...oh, we only had about 2hrs of daylight left on top of everything else. In about 45 minutes, a deuce and a half wrecker shows up, but tells me they cant come onto the property, but he is at the edge of the gravel road...guy tells me to hook back up....I do, and they drag a winch cable over to my truck and hook up to my front towing hooks...I get in the truck and they pull the truck and the 5er out of the quagmire....WE WERE ECSTATIC!! They stayed until I got the 5er to "higher ground" and the wife and I waited it out...the water came onto our property about a foot deep... other than some yard work, putting in a 12' by 12' concrete pad where 5er's wheels will set, getting a gravel road run onto my property and parking the 5er in a different area to where I can now get in and out quite easily, all is well since, (one of life's Live & Learn lessons:))
ALL that to say, I will stay with Coach Net no matter just for the above reason....some say they won't do what they did...BUT THEY DID and to me, it was a BIG DEAL for our predicament...Good enough for me....
I highly recommend Coach Net, if for no other reason then that ONE incident where they literally, came to our rescue..which cost me -0-....and the premium was $99, so I got that back in spades:)
It's still up to the op. as to what he wants to get....I can only tell of this one incident with Coach Net...
Both GS and Coach net appear to me to have the same services, at least the one's I care about, but until I'm let down by them, Coach Net will be my choice .....
For no more than they charge, either GS or Coach Net, it's really great insurance....if it's something my regular insurance doesn't cover....then I'm covered in every way I need to be covered....hard to put a price on "peace of mind"....and the cost of either ERS is miniscule.
JJBIRISH, hey, you have your opinons, others have their's, I'm going by real life experience, and again, for $99 to $109 a year for either.....it's a great insurance...I've had tires changed out, even fuel dilivered one time near Myrtle Beach years ago from GS...( couldn't find a filling station I could pull truck and rig in....another lesson learned....Sounds like you don't need either....get what works for you...I KNOW what services I've got and what has been covered...'nuff said......don't buy any of these, get what you want and good luck... - wbwoodExplorer

I'm not quite sure what some of you mean by wanting to see "detailed contracts" about CoachNet's various ERS plans, but by reading the CN website plus this website, I know all I need to know about my new CN coverage:

That blog lists the same thing as Coach-Net's plan comparison page. It does not go into detail on what exactly is covered and what is not, just basics. As mentioned above about unimproved roads. - JJBIRISHExplorer

thanks…
OK my last post in the thread... (maybe):)
True comparisons are just that and not berating…
I am providing information that no one provided to me when I asked… I wish they would have…
Do you really think I have a reason to lie about my experiences… that is what you are insinuating…
I am inviting others to quote what their agreement says if it is different than what I am saying… in years when this has come up no one has… but I am nitpicking…:B:B:B
Also please post and any new (real) changes (not the promotional propaganda that they all provide) either company has made… so those wanting to know can know without the personal biases… none of this is new information, it’s just been ignored information…
Just some very real differences they do not tell you about in the comparison charts or their Q&A…
When I was stuck in the mud after a days of rain CN refused service because it’s not a mechanical in nature breakdown per their agreement… the supervisor agreed, and low and behold that is what their agreement say in print…
Excerpts from contracts I bought…
for your reading enjoyment, all I ask is to investigate before buying … what is important to me may not be as important to you…
BTY - GS has a downloadable version of the actual agreement that you can read and tear apart if you want to, why not the competition???

http://www.rv-dreams-journal.com/2013/07/new-coach-net-plans.html - wbwoodExplorerWas just looking at Coach-Net's comparison guide. Over all looks basically the same as GSRA, with the exception that GSRA has the Platinum + that will tow up to 100 miles to a place of your choosing. Coach-Net's top plans doesn't mention that. They still say unlimited towing to the nearest qualified repair facility. Which will be what they determine as qualified.

You will get a lot of disagreement about that on here…
After reading and comparing what the contracts of what both say and of a firm believe that the words of the contract matter , and after using both services and proving to myself that those words do matter, I have settled on the Good Sam… others will have differing opinions…
Keep in mind that these coverage’s and the contractual wording can change from time to time, so I recommend anyone buying in read the details and understand their meaning of both contracts for the same level of coverage before buying anything…
Relying on what I or others say, or only reading the promotional stuff on the web sites can leave you down and out…
The second problem is neither own any of the services dispatched, and many of the same towing services contract with both GS and CN and maybe other commitments to… no matter which road service we have they can be the ones that make or break our experiences…
Both companies are considered to be premier road service companies with pluses and minuses on both and I agree with that…
Very good advice, and as this member said, neither provides any "actual" service but contracts through third parties. They're kinda like AAA; you call AAA and a tow truck owned by somebody shows up. - The_TexanExplorer
