I just purchased a new one to replace our 5 year old cover. After about 3 years it starts to show it's age, but with care they can last 5 years. I put mine up on the roof by myself and then roll it out and check to make sure front and back are correct and that it is right side out. When i'm ready then i just drop it down the sides. Been doing this for 5 years with no issues.
Keep in mind you do have to pad the top and bottom corners and anywhere else it may rub through. I use bubble wrap and it works great.
BTW, it is much easier to do this on a calm day! Did it on a windy day one year.....never again!!! Same with removing it.
Good luck!
