I bought Corell Livingware with the lifetime warrantee 40 years ago. Took them with me full time RVing and a whipsaw event cast most of them onto the floor in a disaster of smashed plates. NO ONE wanted to honor the warranty...even with a receipt. Tried several stores, even was met with silence from Corell. Heh. Guess they didn't expect anyone to keep them that long or something.
Just my thoughts but the lifetime warranty may not consider "whipsaw events" as a warranted type of product failure, unless they were in use at the time of the failure. Most warranties don't cover loss due to accidental damage. That would be an insurance claim.
I would feel pretty silly going in and telling them the dishes were broken because of intentional damage, rather than accidental. :)
You'd be surprised what some people tell either the warrantor or their insurer, when explaining their circumstances. Intentional damage (certain tools come to mind) may be covered in some cases. It pays (literally) to have your ducks in a row, before you make the phone call.;) - dewey02Explorer II

How about a replacement for the Sears Muzzler muffler? I think we got 10+ of them replaced before Sears stopped selling mufflers and refunded the full purchase price. I actually felt bad when they refunded the money after all those years and replacements.
That was s sound business practice. Sears is going under. I wonder why :? - wa8yxmExplorer IIIThe only care I ever bought NEW.. the battery failed... I got a replacement from Penny's (Penske as I recal ran that department, not sure) 60 bucks.. Lasted a week. they put in a new one, lasted....many years longer than my brother's first wedding,.... failed when I was going to the rehersal for his 2nd wedding in fact. (he's on wife 3 now looks like he's keeping her). By then Penny's no longer had the "ifetime" but of course I was "Grandfathered" into the warranty. the 5 year battery they repaced it with was tagged at something like 145.
Best battery investment I ever made
That battery.... Outlasted the car.. but the car died, in part due to a drug overdose. (No not me but car) I pulled up to a red light and stopped.
The truck about a quarter mile behind me also pulled up to the red light and stopped.. Problem is I was already there so he ran right over me. Shuttle truck from Sentry Drugs.. See the car got "Overdosed" on Sentry Drugs. - MDKMDKExplorer

Think I got 3 Midas mufflers before the pipe rotted out.

These days 10 mufflers would last for 10 vehicle lifetimes! In 1993, the first year I bought a new vehicle with ss exhaust. That was the first car that I never replaced any exhaust component and haven't since. And the '93 had 250k miles on it when I sold it.
Yeah, things have changed. Mostly better than the good ole days! - bikendanExplorer

This of course is a joke for those of us that are old enough to remember the J.C. PENNEY Battery with the Lifetime warranty.
THOSE WHERE THE DAYS!!
I sold those batteries, while working my way through college.
I worked at the JC Penney auto center in Riverside, California.
They were $49 and people would scam the warranty by bringing in the battery alone.
The guarantee was only for the original vehicle. So they would just put the new one in their next vehicle.
JCP finally wised up and discontinued it.
I used to make more commission on selling batteries than I did selling tires. - JimExplorerI bought Corell Livingware with the lifetime warrantee 40 years ago. - LwiddisNomadAnd the law at least in our state has defined “lifetime” as the lifetime of the product, not the human purchaser.
