- antiquedroseExplorerSo amazing what you and others have done to preserve history, noe-place.
How grievous to discover serious damage to the historical site. I'm sorry for you and your community, us too, as we all suffer from those acts. - noe-placeExplorerThis happens all over the country. I'm on the board of directors that formed over 20 yrs ago to preserve a Civil War battlefield here in southern Kentucky. After years of blood, sweat, tears, bank loans, begging for grants from state and fed, we've saved the entire battlefield in exactly the same condition as the day the battle took place and even built a $2 million visitor center/museum. In the last few years we're starting to have trespassers with metal detectors stealing artifacts, cutting down trees, destroying and stealing tour trail sign and painting graffitti on buildings and cannons not to mention illegally hunting on posted land. Hoodlums are always looking for something to destroy so all of us must be vigilant.
- kknowltonExplorer IISad. I'm glad to hear the fines are substantial.
- Roundtwo-40ExplorerSadly the media coverage and pictures will just fuel the next group of attention seeking idiots to outdo the last in hopes of his 15 min of fame to cap his pathetic life.
- Chock_Full_o__NExplorerSickening. To think how long it takes to grow a saguaro or to make a rock formation...I makes me crazy to know that common thugs can just waltz in there and paint over ancient petroglyphs and old pioneer signatures.

Wow! While I don't condone what they did, don't you think thats a little harsh?? - mpfiremanExplorerWhen rafting down the Colorado River a few years back, we were informed by our guide to see what some people had painted on the overhead rocks. Really sad.
- Tom_NExplorerToday's graffiti is tomorrow's petroglyphs.
- Jim_ShoeExplorerHow about tatooing "I defaced a national treasure" on their foreheads. Lets see how long that takes to wear off.
- bmet2000ExplorerLet them play in the waters of Yellowstone.... probably wouldn't do that but once.
