- hitchupExplorerDD bought B1G1Free Nuwave and gave us the 2nd one for the RV. They do require special pans, but we found a full set on sale at a Kitchen Store that was closing.
I also have an electric frypan which I use for Sunday bacon n eggs. I only use the LP stovetop for soups. - camperpaulExplorer

Generator or shore power. This is not a boondocker's friend.
Does the induction stove run on 12 volt or do you have to use an inverter or generator to generate AC? I would think even the portable one "burner" would use a great deal of electricity.
It is about equal to a 750 Watt hotplate. - dkreuzenExplorerThe DW got a single burner induction cooktop a few years ago. Used it in the RV then had to get a full size range top for the stick house. Now my to-do list has the installation of a two burner unit into the RV and remove the gas range. The gas range has never been used since we got this MH.
Want to use it boondocking...start the generator, that's why it's there. - BobboExplorer III

The Nu-Wave is a 1300w/120v portable appliance.

- 69_AvionExplorerWe have an induction stove at home and it works great, but I'll stick with LP for the RV. I still want to be able to boondock without excessive high voltage use.

How do you cook without electricity? If I am stopped at a truck or rest stop I can cook something without firing up my generator. It would be nice to have in addition to a propane stove as an option but I would never give up the ability to cook with propane.
EDIT
They do make portable induction cook tops, the best option is to keep the propane stove and have a portable induction cooker that you can use when you need it.
The NuWave is a portable...we still have our propane cook-top and oven but hardly ever use them.
Oh....we don't cook at truck stops.
If I am on the road and stop at a rest stop for lunch I will fry up a burger for lunch and take a short nap or lay in bed and read a book to relax before getting behind the wheel again. - Us_out_WestExplorer

Bought the NuWave package..
The pans are the easiest we've ever had for cleanup...rinse or wipe it out and it's done.
