- TomG2ExplorerEscapees has a lot of good information on this subject, We have individuals who own property one place, live somewhere else, have vehicles registered in a variety of places, and avoid taxes elsewhere. Probably won't get caught. They can justify it all, as long as a judge is not asking the questions.
- wa8yxmExplorer IIILet me put it this way.. Many of us do.. I "Live" at my brother's house.

Last time I checked even full timers have to register and license their vehicles. Or has that changed? Or can you simply use the address of the campground/RV Park where you're currently staying?fj12ryder wrote:
To use to forward mail I don't see any problems. To use as an address for residency, then if you don't live there, it's not legit.
The OP is talking about full timers. - MitchF150Explorer IIIYeah, but you still have to establish "residency" in some state/county, right?
Regardless of where you go or how long you stay in any particular place, you still have to be a resident someplace, just to be able to vote, right? - gboppExplorer

The OP is talking about full timers. - MitchF150Explorer IIIYeah, I hate paying this stupid RTA tax that my home address falls into.. I won't ever use RTA (Regional Transit Authority) I am paying some $1000 a year more because of it... I voted against it and so did the county I live in (Pierce county), but since King and Snohomish county PASSED it, I have to pay too.. SUCKS...
Maybe I should change my address to my folks house that is outside of this so I don't have to pay that stupid tax......................
Where I live, they do check on these things now because a lot of folks would register their rigs in OREGON when they actually lived in WASHINGTON to get out of the higher registration fees between the two states..
Like was said, if it's just to forward mail, that's one thing.. But if it's to get out of paying taxes and fees for where you really call home... Well, that's all on you... Do it if you want or think it's a fair thing to do for the rest of us... Or move to where the actual tax is not so much... Agian, your choice... :(
My folks are retired and 'snow bird' between WA and AZ.. They have to establish residency in some state... They choose WA. When they go to AZ, they can only stay there for 6 months before having to go back to WA so they don't become a AZ resident.. I guess if you are traveling between all 50 states, I don't know, but you still do have to establish a resident state and go with what that state allows for not actually being in that state.. Dunno... Looks like you have a lot more research to do for what your full time lifestyle is..
Good luck!

- PastorCharlieExplorerAn option would be to establish a PO Box convenient for a family member or trusted friend and call them occasionally and have them to pick up your mail and put it into a mail package and mail it to you.
The Post Office would need to have the trusted person's name on record and the person would need your Box code. My son does me the favor and I pay his expense. - gboppExplorerYes, they are just using your address as their legal address. It would be no different than if your son, daughter, brother, etc. used your address.
Make arrangements for mail forwarding, especially the local tax bill, if any, jury duty notices or any other legal requirements.
And, if someone is using your address, be prepared for the possibility of bill collectors knocking on your door. :) - Ron3rdExplorer IIIDepends on what you want to use the address for. If it's to defraud someone, then no.
