lifetime warrenty?

I know which dealer you are talking about and, without mentioning names, I would not buy black tank chemicals from that bunch, much less a whole RV.

A fairly large NC dealer near us is pushing this same warranty. They did show me the "network" of dealers nationwide who would have to do warranty repairs for us if we had an issue while on the road. They also state this warranty is free of charge but you do have to come in every year for maintenance work.

As many have said, I asked a couple of times what was considered maintenance work and how much did it cost. The sales lady was very skilled at dodging the answer. But it was so funny how much she pushed the fact they offered this warranty. It was more important to her sales pitch than the actual campers were.

We bought our Work & Play somewhere else. Cheaper, too.

We won't fall for it me and my wife have waited too long for our.rv and we are doing a ton of looking .and reading and we can't wait allthough it is a year away we are asking a lot of questions The dealership that offered the warrenty has a large indoor showroom which here in florida is a blessing. Thanks to all. I have heard that rv ers are the most helpfull people on this planet. Thank you too all who resonded.and once we buy it which hopefull will be new the first thing we will do is put on very reliable tires. That is one thing I have learned.

Lifetime warranty???

As I said before talk to the dealer. We have heard of extended warranty..5-7 years but lifetime????
It sounds like it could be something else.

I doubt it is legal for the dealer to require that they perform all maintenance. It is probably sufficient for you simply to have proof of all the maintenance having been done. On the other hand that gives the dealer a way out by claiming the work wasn't done or wasn't done correctly.

To keep that LT warranty in effect your going to have to spend a fortune in un-needed maint. by this dealer. So much so that you could have paid for what ever repairs you ultimately need several times over.
Don't fall for it.

While I agree on every point made, I would still ask for the contract and then read it carefully to see what it does include and of course what is NOT included. You will spend money every year on mtce items, or you should be, anyway. If the amount being spent anyway, was in the same ballpark as what I would spend for the LTW and I got a decent coverage, why would I say nu uh?

I am just going to repeat what everyone else has said. It is a marketing gimmick. They are designed to make the dealer more money through its service department. It also gives the sales person another talking point about why you should buy from them.

That "recommended maintenance" at the dealer will be a great profit center for them. The "Lifetime warranty" will have so many exclusions it will be worthless. Think about that and you will realize it is a marketing tool.

If you want a guaranty..buy a toaster. The "inspections" aren't free. The "necessary" services aren't free. It's just another way to get you to come in and buy something you may not need.
