National Interstate (RV) insurance... Comments?

OP here, first of all a very sincere thank you to one and all for the timely, completely positive responses. Thanks to your input I am completely comfortable making a change. I just completed switching from Farmers to National Interstate working with Becky at Explorer RV. The coverage on the new policy has the same dollar amounts as the old policy and came in at $524 + a one time policy fee of $25, total of $568 which is $127 less than I was paying (including the policy fee).

One additional feature that Nation Interstate brings to the equation is their replacement coverage. For 10 years they will pay the full amount we paid for the coach should it be totaled (for whatever reason - fire, theft, collision etc.). While I remain happy with my Farmers agent and will continue to be insured by them on our car and home they were just not competitive on the motorhome. Ironically I had gotten got a quote from Good Sam and it came in roughly the same as Farmer's.

Been with National Interstate on the truck and trailer for ten years. No complaints. Have had a couple of claims and taken care of.

Had them a couple years on the car but premium went up more then we felt it should have and we switched the car to Progressive.

For years I have had a policy for all of our ranch risks for both ranches. For the RV (our Monty at present) I have also had GMAC Insurance throught Good Sam since we are long-time Live Members. We have never had a claim with GMAC.

One of my employees had a Progressive Insurace Policy on his motor home for a few years. Three years ago Progressive notified him that his policy was cancelled for the reason of an auto accident. The letter stated that he could re-instate the policy but only with over doubling of the premium.

My employee wrote back, and phoned, informing Progressing that he had never been in any auot accident. He contacted the Colorado Dept of Motor Vehicles and received a statement from that agency that there was no record of any motor vehicle accident charged to to him or his vehicles.

Even after sending the DMV record to Progressive, the Insurance Company refused to make a correction,stating that they had a record of an accident charged to him. My employee changed Insurance carriers and his new carrier issued a new policy with a much lower rate than even his original Progressive rate, due to a record of no accidents.

we've had coverage with them since '02 ... in late '05 rolled the coverage over to our current camper .... our policy is a bit different in that if totaled, no matter how long the policy has been in effect, they will pay the full value for which the camper was insured when new .... and yes, I have confirmed that with them by phone as recently as January of this year .... we now have a zero deductible because we have never filed a claim .... having no experience in doing so, its good to see positive reports from folks who have

We had them for 9 years. First claim was within a week of instating the policy...no questions, no rate increase....never saw a bill. Very easy to work with.....

We've had them since 2005. Our insurance agent would not put us with them if they were not good. Not had any claims on the RV but had another vehicle (covered by Progressive) get broken into and they got my computer, camera some tools... totaled around $2500 and that came out of my RV insurance since it was personal property. Went real smooth.

Had them for 5 years since we started full timing. Class A & toad. 1 windshield claim which was handled quickly and without problems. They include Coach Net roadside assistance in their policy premium. Very happy with them.

No, it is not.

Been with them for 10 years and have no complaints. Handled all claims expeditiously and premium is about the best you can find. they also offer coverage in Mexico for everything except liability for a very reasonable price.
