- peaches_creamExplorerWell, I was planning on avoiding this post, but with 10 pages, it's hard. The things that bother me the most about camping are, paying the taxes on the MH, paying the Insurance on the MH, filling the 100 gal. tank on the MH, driving down the hwy's and putting up with the rude driver's cutting you off, paying the high fee's at campgrounds, and about 100 other things that come to mind. GUESS I JUST DON'T ENJOY CAMPING ANYMORE. :(

Might as well it's winter and I'm bored :B. So we already have the barking dog thread. Let's get it out of our system. Did I miss any? What gets your goat?
You tell me yours I'll tell you mine
Yikes! I see this thread (already) goes to ten pages.
Go camping and you won't be bored anymore - *PLUS* you can find some new ideas for rants..:W
. - BillinwoodlandExplorerBose headphones, awesome quality sound, and I'm the only one that hears it. Oh, and the noise cancellation function blocks out the barking dogs!
- OaklevelExplorerBiggest thing that bothers me by far...........when it is time to pack up to go home....other than that don't care.... :)
- TXicemanExplorer IIThe people that feel the fire pit is a garbage dump sna leave it full of trash and cigarette butts. Also, the butts that are scattered all over the campsite. They are not slobs, they a filthy pigs.
Ken - Deb_and_Ed_MExplorer IIOoh, I have a new one! After a day of heavy rain in the Orlando area, we've discovered our site is on the "low" end of the RV park. Wading thru ankle-deep water to walk the dogs, then drying them off has been a pain....
- RDMuellerExplorerNumber 1 for me would be the construction site generators. On a recent trip, I had a neighbor in the next site with a Honda - we barely heard it. But the guy 5 or 6 sites away with a construction genny was driving us to distraction. Plus he ran it 3-4 hours a day! Even though we are perfectly happy to dry camp, more and more we select CG's with hookups just so we don't have to listen to noisy generators.
Second would be continuously barking dogs, but fortunately that is not something we've run into very often.
Overall, I would say I find most campers to be very respectful of their neighbors. - noplace2Explorer

Wintersun, If you encounter the wife and myself, we are not there to enjoy the great outdoors primarily.
I just have to ask:
Why ARE you there?
I like my microwave, I like my big screen tv and if I feel the need to respectfully run my generator that is exactly what I will do.
And, respectfully, why don't you do it out of earshot of others who don't share your vision? And again, why did you leave home? - pitchExplorer IIWintersun, If you encounter the wife and myself, we are not there to enjoy the great outdoors primarily. Not that we don't love the great outdoors, but traveling and seeing new things is our primary objective.

For some reason too many people think that to enjoy the outdoors they need to have a microwave oven and a television and an electric coffee maker and an air conditioner. This luxury items have become a necessity in their mind.
The number on reason to get out of town is to have peace and quiet and listen to the sounds of nature. To have an internal combustion engine running for hours to provide 120v AC for appliances destroys the atmosphere for everyone else in the area.
It is why I prefer parks with AC hookups to many "boondocking" campgrounds where people insist on firing up their generators in the morning and again in the afternoon and evening. It is why we have a truck with a slide in camper that will fit in areas where motorhomes and large travel trailers cannot.
