Oxygenics shower head in an old RV

I bought an Oxygenics shower head thinking I could just attach it to my existing fixture. But it turns out my 30-year-old Allegro has kind of a unique set up. Is there some sort of adapter I can get or do I need to replace the fixture?

The fixture has a long, steel tube that goes up to the shower head. The Oxygenics fixture doesn't attach to the fixture or where the shower head is (threads are too small). There is an access panel in the bedroom where I could get to the shower fixture but it would require quite a bit of effort.

Here's what I have:

  • Thanks all. Whatever size mine is is smaller than the Oxygenics valve. I'll see what HD has.
  • Take the existing shower head off and take it to your local Home Depot along with the Oxygenics one. One of their plumbing guys will fix you up with the correct adapter. Be sure to use some teflon tape when installing the new head....Dennis
  • It should screw on the existing shower pipe, if it doesn't there are adapters at all the Big Box stores and most decent hardware stores.
    OR
Trade the one you got off for the "telephone" type with a hose. Then find the adapter for where you will screw into the diverter. I don't have any real scale, but that sure looks like 1/4 pipe.

    We love ours.

  • Seems to me you could probably find an adapter in a well stocked hardware store.

Take the Oxygenics and the pipe with you.

    Good luck.
